So Much For Skeggy

I was supposed to be going on holiday to Skegness today with Craig and my parents, but I'm not well. I was the Drs the other day for problems 'down below', namely thrush which I've had for about five years now, since the year before I was disgnosed with diabetes. I've had almost every pill, cream and pessiary known to man and doctor but still nothing is helping. When I was at the Drs on Wednesday she gave me a prescription for more antibiotic cream, antibiotic pills and Sudocrem, none of which are helping. She took another swab to check that it IS thrush (the swab taken a couple of months ago confirmed that) and said I also had a secondary infection on top of the thrush, both of which go front to back if you get my meaning. Don't really want to get too nitty gritty here. Anyway, I'm at the stage where I can't sit without being in excrutiating agony, can't walk hardly and it hurts like hell to pee and poo. On top of all that I got my period on Thursday too so I'm not a happy camper. Well, actually, I'm not any kind of ruddy camper cos I'm stuck at home while everyone else has buggered off and left me! With Dene and Kate to look after me - GOD HELP ME!!! I did tell them to go mind you, it wasn't fair to ruin everyone else's holiday as well.

I did get a phone call from Craig mid afternoon to say they'd arrived ok, although Tom Tom had wanted to take them the loooooooong way round and over the Humber Bridge, and I've had a couple of phone calls from Ian and Mick in Crete, where it's apparently too hot. Jammy sods. Dene and Kate are back at work tomorrow so I'm going to be home alone all day with just Mollie for company. I'm not sure if my brother is going to be popping in at all. He was supposed to be coming to see to the dog while we were all away, but dunno if he will now.

So here I am, bored out of my skull. I've worked my way through a James Patterson and two Stephen King books and am on to my third SK - Salem's Lot....again. I can't sew while I'm lying in bed and it's too sore to sit so I can't sit downstairs and do any either. I don't think I'll be on the laptop much either as I can't lie for long on my back, too uncomfortable. Sigh!

I am so sorry to hear of how badly you are feeling!! Do you know that antibiotics will just aggravate a problem with thrush? Thrush is a type of yeast and when your helpful bacteria get out of balance by being killed off with antibiotics, it lets the yeast just take over. If you get yourself some Acidophilus which is the bacteria found in yogurt, and take like 4 at a time, it really does help put that balance back in balance and perhaps this would help you! You can find it in a health food store or drugstore. In any case, it won't hurt you but be sure that when you get some that you put it in the refeigerator! I hope I have given you a little help as this works well for me! Debby :)

I was about to ask if you have tried some natural yoghurt, it might help the cooling and soothing. Sounds like Debby has already kind of mentioned it though.

I've only ever had it once and at the time couldn't afford the prescription and got myself some kamilosan cream, which is kind of like savlon in a way, but it helps soothe itching. It went about 4 days later, don't know if it was the cream or not though.
