SAL WIP CELTIC AUTUMN

A few of us are doing a SAL using the the L&L Celtic series. Kathy is doing Celtic Winter, Mandy is doing Celtic Noel and I'm not sure what the others are doing yet. I started Celtic Autumn yesterday and this is the progress I made. Am looking forward to doing more next Tuesday.
Today I'm going to be doing more work on Sue's photochart. I'm about halfway through page 9, so might get that finished today.

Rare sighting...

...of the lesser known Kate bird, doing something REALLY unheard of in this house. She's off on her hols tomorrow, travelling down to Nottingham first thing in the morning on the bus to stay at Laura's for a few days, then they fly to Salou in Spain late on Tuesday night.

And yes I know the mirror is manky and needs a bloody good clean!

S.E.X. at the Attic

Bought this at the Attic today. Jayne's been doing some experimenting and as soon as I walked into the shop I spotted it. It's linen, which I don't normally stitch on, but I'm going to find something to sew on it. I'm bound to have the perfect chart among my huge collection. I also got this month's Ozark Sampler section, another piece of material, both of which look better in the flesh than in a photo, and some little things for a RAK (Random Act of Kindness), but my lips are sealed.

Photochart WIP...again

Have now finished 8 pages of this current photo chart that I'm doing for Sue. There's no faces or anything yet so I decided it was safe enough to post a WIP photo of it, but this could be the last one. I think it's coming along quite nicely. Only technically have about 5 weeks left to finish it off. YIKES! I'm going down to visit Sue at the end of July and I would like it finished before I go. I might have a day off from it tomorrow though and do something else, like a RR I found in my workbox that I thought I'd lost. Oops! Still got a couple of weeks before it needs posting though so it's not too bad. I also have the Ozark Sampler to catch up with and I would like to put some more stitches in HAED QS Bubbles, as well as maybe start another HAED design by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law for a SAL on the message board.

I've been chatting to someone today that I haven't spoken to for ages, Heather from Nottingham. I met her a couple of years ago at an Aion get-together and she is really nice but going through the wringer a bit at the moment. Her blog - listed to the right - will tell you more.

Kathy has been stitching some more of her mermaids today...can't wait to see it in the flesh. Hmmm, wonder if she'll have it finished before I go to see her. She was telling me that Guy and Mark had their hair cut the other day. They told the hairdresser they wanted spiky hair like Dene's, "cos he's cool"! I had to laugh. I told Dene when I picked him up from work that he is a style icon now. ROFL!

Kathy has also restarted the International Robins back up, but instead of it being on Yahoo she's done it on ezboards. I too have a message board on there, called, surprisingly enough Smoking Needles and all are welcome. Mine has been going for a while but there's not much action on it at the minute. Hopefully that will change in the coming months.

Photochart WIP

I started this a while ago, but then discovered that a) the material wasn't going to be big enough and b) I had a couple of pages out of order and I was stitching them in the wrong place, so I started again at the weekend. This is the restart so far, and I've just started the 6th page.

I only have a few weeks to finish this before I take it with me down to Kent to visit Sue. Unfortunately you won't get to see the finished thing as it's for a head of a school, and the person it's for doesn't want it published on the internet.

LOL...ALMOST FORGOT

THIS IS KATHY!!!

Kathy's Visit

It was a couple of weeks ago now, but this is the first chance I've had to download the photos and bring my Blog up to date.

Kathy, Guy and Mark arrived just after midday on the Thursday. After unloading their car we went in mine up to Jayne's Attic, where Kathy was in 7th heaven, drooling over all the items in the shop. We spent a horrendous amount of money in there, specially as there was a bit of a sale on the HAED charts. I love HAED.

We came back home for tea and did some stitching. Guy and Mark even did some too. They were stitching on binca material, and they did really well. One of them is finished now, the little pink car on the left of the picture and I can't wait to see it in the flesh when I go down there to visit. Hopefully the other one will be finished too.

On Friday afternoon we went up to Alnwick Castle. Guy and Mark really loved it in there, they ran around the whole time, apart from the 15 minute magic show, which was great. The jester involved all the kids, was really funny, and interacted with the adults who were watching with their kids too. There were birds of prey displayed as well and we watched one of the eagles being put through her paces by the handler. You'd think a big bird like this would be ungainly, but she wasn't.

On Saturday we left Guy and Mark to the tender mercies of Kate while Kathy and I went back to Jayne's and spent the whole day stitching. It was bliss. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Kate and the boys did some baking and made a whole load of fairy cakes, including decorating them. We had a couple when we got home and they were yummy.

Kathy, Guy and Mark left early on Sunday morning. They didn't really want to leave, especially the boys. Kathy had a lovely weekend, especially because Guy and Mark spent a lot of time upstairs with Dene on the computers. They loved Dene, thought he was cool cos he has spiky hair. LOL.
