Another Boring Day

The sun is shining, it's quite warm...and I'm bored shitless. Mollie has found her dirtiest, grottiest bone from out of the garden and is currently lying on my bed gnawing on it. I think she wants me to play with her but she's got no chance. LOL.
Apparently the weather in Skegness is gorgeous and Craig has sent me a photo text to prove it. Blue sky, Mam with a cigarette in her hand and squinting...not a pretty picture. It's very hard to get a photo of my Mam WITHOUT a fag and/or pulling a face.
I rang the Drs surgery this morning to speak to the triage nurse, but there's not one available today. I could have gone to sit at the surgery at 10.30am in the hope that I would have been seen eventually today, but I don't think I could have sat an unknown length of time. I was offered an appointment with the GP I normally see for tomorrow at 5.40pm, so I've taken that. At least she knows what's happening and with any luck she'll have the results from the swab she took last week. I only have today and tomorrow left to take the antibiotics, which aren't helping, and I'm hoping she'll be able to give me something tomorrow that DOES work. Fairly quickly with any luck...you know, a wonder cure. I can't cope with this for much longer. I've been describing the pain as being like someone attacking me with razor blades, if it goes on for much longer it'll be me with the ruddy razor blades. Of course, first I'd have to get someone to go to the shop and buy me some. Can you still get razor blades? Proper ones I mean?

So Much For Skeggy

I was supposed to be going on holiday to Skegness today with Craig and my parents, but I'm not well. I was the Drs the other day for problems 'down below', namely thrush which I've had for about five years now, since the year before I was disgnosed with diabetes. I've had almost every pill, cream and pessiary known to man and doctor but still nothing is helping. When I was at the Drs on Wednesday she gave me a prescription for more antibiotic cream, antibiotic pills and Sudocrem, none of which are helping. She took another swab to check that it IS thrush (the swab taken a couple of months ago confirmed that) and said I also had a secondary infection on top of the thrush, both of which go front to back if you get my meaning. Don't really want to get too nitty gritty here. Anyway, I'm at the stage where I can't sit without being in excrutiating agony, can't walk hardly and it hurts like hell to pee and poo. On top of all that I got my period on Thursday too so I'm not a happy camper. Well, actually, I'm not any kind of ruddy camper cos I'm stuck at home while everyone else has buggered off and left me! With Dene and Kate to look after me - GOD HELP ME!!! I did tell them to go mind you, it wasn't fair to ruin everyone else's holiday as well.

I did get a phone call from Craig mid afternoon to say they'd arrived ok, although Tom Tom had wanted to take them the loooooooong way round and over the Humber Bridge, and I've had a couple of phone calls from Ian and Mick in Crete, where it's apparently too hot. Jammy sods. Dene and Kate are back at work tomorrow so I'm going to be home alone all day with just Mollie for company. I'm not sure if my brother is going to be popping in at all. He was supposed to be coming to see to the dog while we were all away, but dunno if he will now.

So here I am, bored out of my skull. I've worked my way through a James Patterson and two Stephen King books and am on to my third SK - Salem's Lot....again. I can't sew while I'm lying in bed and it's too sore to sit so I can't sit downstairs and do any either. I don't think I'll be on the laptop much either as I can't lie for long on my back, too uncomfortable. Sigh!

Blue Sky Sampler WIP

Blue Sky Sampler
Elizabeth's Designs
This is my progress so far on the Blue Sky Sampler. The border down the left hand side goes down a bit more than is shown, but I was just trying to get section 1 on the photo. I've added the beads though you can't really well and those Rhodes stitches really stand out on the material. This is a really shite photo when you compare it to the real thing. Will try better for the next one. LOL.

A Fairy Tale

This is the fairy tale that should have been read to us when we were little:

Once upon a time in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.
The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: "Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young prince that I am and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle, with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so."
That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on lightly sauteed frog legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled and thought to herself:
I don't fuckin' think so!

Elizabeth's Designs Finish

This has been on the go for a while, but what with one thing and another it's been on the back burner more often than not. It's called In The Garden Of My Heart and was a really easy stitch, even with all the speciality stitches. The colours aren't all the ones they should be but I think it looks ok anyway. Thanks for looking...oh and thanks for all your comments.

Ozark Sampler SAL WIP

Before I go any further, I apologise for the crappy photo. LOL. Someone asked in one of the comments what I was going to be doing while waiting for the rest of the LK Flipit Bits to come out. So far I've brought myself up to date with the Ozark SAL and have stitched letters E-L inclusive. I'm not sure what I'm going to get out of the box next, maybe I'll get Craig to choose for me. Fingers crossed folks!

All Done For Now

I've just put the final stitch into October, and I finished September last night when I was at Stitch & Bitch. It hasn't taken me long to do these, but now I can put them away for a while till November and December arrive, and get on with some of my own stitching. Thanks for the comments on the other finishes ladies, they're always appreciated.

August Finished

...and I'm halfway through September too. However, I've been sidetracked by the laptop for the first time today, and a big bar of Fruit & Nut, so I'm catching up with emails, Corrie and message boards. Kate and I have been watching Chick Flicks most of the afternoon, while Craig, Dad and the lads laid the concrete for the base of the shed. They even had some concrete left so they've made a little ramp so Dene can wheel his bike straight in. I will probably get September finished tomorrow and make a start on October. Then I have to wait months for the last two charts. Sigh!

And another one!

Finished this earlier this morning before Craig and I went out for a few hours. We went to Heighleygate Garden Centre, just north of Morpeth. Craig bought a few new fish for the tank and we got a couple of treats for Mollie, and I bought a little something for one of my advent exchanges. When we got back I went to bed for a couple of hours then up and had tea. Haven't done any more stitching since then. Oh, we also went round to Jayne's house to pick up my Ozark Sampler SAL stuff and a couple of other goodies.

More Bits

I took a photo of June's Bit this morning. I'm almost finished July and will post another pic when I'm through. Thanks for looking, and also for all the comments on the first lot I did. They're much appreciated.

LK Flipit Bits

I've got some more model stitching to do, for Jayne again. This time it's the LK Flipit Bits from this year. Jayne had already stitched January and February. So far I've done March, April and May, and have made a start on June. Jayne is going to sew the tiny buttons on when she gets it back so that they don't spoil in the roller of the frame. These are lovely to stitch and really quick. I did the first two in one day, so I was rather pleased with myself.

My Favourite Fast Food

Blyth's new KFC opened today so I've sent Craig and Kate to get some for our tea. Apparently the queue is quite long for the drive through, and going by this piccie it's long for the counter service too. Kate took this on her mobile phone. They can't be that far off the drive through counter from here. Oh well, at least I'll be hungrier by the time they get back. LOL. I still feel rotten but I've gotta eat, right?

Dozy Mare

After completely cocking up my sale site the other day (I deleted everything by mistake) I have now put everything back on, and added some extras too. There is now a page with some magazines on it for sale. Please feel free to take a look - the link is on the right hand side.

At last I can show you this

Tender Moments - Polstitches Designs

This is the model I was working on until recently. I love it and I really enjoyed stitching it. The chart is now apparently available as I've had the go-ahead from Jo at Polstitches Designs to shout as loud as I like...LOL.
